With the Marketing Nudge, if a user does not accept the marketing preferences in your Lead Capture form, you can prompt users to opt into communications at just the right time - after they’ve meaningfully engaged with your Vepple experience. These prompts appear automatically once a user has viewed a certain number of pages or content items. You’re in full control of when they appear, what they say, and how they look so the messaging feels helpful, not intrusive.
How to Set It Up
Navigation steps
- Go to the Marketing Nudge tab: From the Vepple dashboard, go to Site Options > Lead Capture Settings, then select the Marketing Nudge tab.
- Set the nudge trigger: In the Marketing Nudge Count field, enter how many pages or pieces of content a user must view before being shown the prompt.
- For example: enter 3 to show the nudge after three page views.
- Set to 0 if you don’t want the nudge to appear(automatically set to zero).
- Customise the message(encouraging students to consent to marketing): There's a default copy provided to get you started, but we recommend tailoring it to suit your tone of voice and audience.
- Add benefits(this section if optional but encouraged) (a maximum of 3): This section lets you highlight the value of opting in. For each benefit:
- Icon – Choose from the icon library (e.g. calendar, chat bubble, envelope)
- Header – A short title e.g. “Exclusive updates”
- Description – One sentence explaining the benefit e.g. “Get early access to open days and key deadlines.”
- Style your nudge
- Image(optional but encouraged) – Upload a welcoming image (students, campus scenes, etc.)
Button style and icon – Choose your preferred button style and select an icon (e.g. checkmark) for the accept button - Header colour – Sets the background of the top section. The logo text will automatically switch between black or white for contrast
- Benefits background colour – Sets the background for the benefits section
- Benefits background colour transparency – Adjust the benefits background’s opacity
- Image(optional but encouraged) – Upload a welcoming image (students, campus scenes, etc.)
- Once everything looks good, click Update to publish your nudge settings.
Best Practices & Use Cases
- Start with a soft trigger: Try setting the nudge to appear after 5 pieces of content. This gives users time to explore without feeling rushed.
FAQs & Troubleshooting
- The nudge isn’t appearing, what should I check: Check the Marketing Nudge Count field ,if it’s set to 0, the nudge is disabled.
- Can users see the nudge more than once: Yes they can be re-prompted if they revisit the experience and meet the trigger conditions again.
- What happens when someone clicks “No, thanks”: The nudge won’t show again during that session, but they may see it again on a future visit if they come back to the experience over a month later.
- If I have the interaction counter as a gating mode, when does the marketing nudge start counting?: It starts counting after they have signed up.
