If it is your first time enabling or working with this, please submit a ticket on the Vepple Help Desk for the support team to walk you through this process.
Why is it important to submit a ticket as opposed to doing it yourself?
- Some rules need to be followed while setting up the fields for the data to pull in correctly.
- Vepple Support needs to set up your Looker Studio reports.
- For Behaviour Tracking, we need to set up your Facebook Authentication and this takes a while for Facebook to approve.
- Check that they have your privacy policy and marketing consent is set up especially taking into consideration their GDPR.
Lead Capture optimised for Volume and Engagement
Lead Capture optimised for Behaviour Tracking
To enable Lead Capture in your Vepple CMS, follow these steps:
- Go to the "Site Options - Lead Capture Settings" section.
- Within the "User Fields" tab, you'll find a dropdown labelled "Capture mode"
- Select “Behaviour Tracking" or “Lead Capture”
- Click Update
Lock Specified Content - Flexible
Once Authentication is enabled you can select flexible gating mode to lock specific content.
A new toggle labelled "Authentication Required?" will become available for all content options, including Posts, Groups, Sections/Academia, Guided Tours, and Events. You can find this toggle within the "Auth Check" group on the right-hand sidebar.
By default, the toggle is set to “No,” indicating that no content will be restricted behind the Sign In/Sign Up modal.
When turned on a user on the front end will see a padlock on any gated content and be prompted with the capture mode you previously selected if they wish to access that content.
Lock All Content- Fully Gated
To gate all content, select ‘Fully Gated’ from the ‘Gating mode’ options list next to the ‘Capture mode’.
A modal will then appear any time a user enters the site requiring them to authenticate before accessing any content.
Interaction Counter : Give your users a preview of your site before gating.
Sometimes, you may wish to gate the experience but before you do so, you want to tease a preview of the experience to users so that the initial barrier to entry is removed. With gating set to “interaction count” mode, that’s exactly what you can do, allowing open access to the experience for X interactions (where you can define X) before a lead capture dorm/sign-in modal is shown.
- Select Interaction Counter.
- Set the interaction limit i.e. the number of pages/pieces of content you would like them to see before they are required to fill in the form.
- Each new page or piece of content viewed counts as an interaction including the homepage so we recommend a count greater than 5 to give the user time to see some of the site before being served the login modal.
-
Clicking on a content spot doesn’t count as an interaction in the counter. The counter only increments when a user navigates to a new "page," which could mean moving to the next stop in a tour or loading a new section entirely. The intention is to track meaningful navigational steps rather than interactions within a single page. Since content spots are embedded within a 360 , they don't trigger an increment.
Messaging: How do you encourage the students to sign up?
Consider displaying a special message to encourage students to sign up or register after previewing your site. This might come in handy, especially in cases of deep linking your prospective students and most importantly in the case of the interaction counter.
Use the following prompt override in your CMS to achieve this:
Once you have enabled lead capture, you need to set up the fields you would like to capture. See how to set this up on our comprehensive article here.
