Captured leads and registrations will now automatically catch and store the referring URL*.This should facilitate onward analysis to help you/us understand which sources are driving conversions, even when cookies are not accepted, for example, how are your paid ads performing compared to traffic from your website.
Whenever a user arrives at the sign-up or lead capture page, our system automatically detects and records the URL of the page that referred them to us, along with any additional information encoded in the URL's query parameters. This data is then associated with the user's action, offering a clear view of the journey that led them to your service.
*It is important to note that the ability to capture referrer URLs depends on the referrer's policy. Modern web security standards include a feature called the "Referrer Policy," which websites can use to control how much referrer information is sent to other websites. If a website has a strict referrer policy, it might not send the full URL, or any referrer information at all, to our platform.
This information can be accessed via our Vepple API, or you can submit a request to our help desk for assistance with setting this up in your Looker Studio.
