Background

Section and Academia (subject) pages are the heart of the "Discover" section of your Vepple-powered experience. They can either take the form of pages made up of columns and blocks built using a page builder or experiential sections utilising guided tours as the basis for navigation.

Creating a new Section/Academia page

• First login to the CMS and,
• then browse to either Sections for generic topics or Academia for subject pages.
• Press Add New to create a new page.

Section/Academia settings

Towards the top of the page, you'll see a panel for Section or Academia settings.

Academia toggle

Only enable this on the Section relating to Academia, that is, for example, the one you want to swap out for individual subjects when personalisation is utilised.

Icon

Select the icon that you'd like to display alongside this section in the menu/sidebar. For a full list of icons, visit FontAwesome.com. 

Analytics Categories for Section Pages

To ensure your analytics dashboard accurately reflects student engagement, you must assign an Analytics Category to each parent section page. This helps us categorize student interactions and provide you with meaningful data on your performance dashboard.

Assign the most relevant category from the options below to each of your section or academia pages:

• Accommodation: Use for pages detailing on-campus or off-campus housing.
• Academia: Use for specific subject pages, such as Biology, Chemistry, or History.
• Student Life/Local Area: Use for pages about student activities and exploring the surrounding community.
• Student Support/Welfare: Use for pages focused on student well-being and support services.
• Employability: Use for pages on career services, on-campus jobs, and post-graduation employment support.
• Other: Use for any page that doesn't fit into the categories above.

This is how it pull through on your performance dashboard.

The extra categories you see above e.g. events, home, map, these are automatically tagged by system.

****If a big percentage of your content on the 'Page Views' section of the performance dashboard is 'other', this is because of how you have tagged the sections in your CMS.

Background settings

Each Section/Academia page can utilise either a flat colour, image or video. Minimum specifications for each media type are provided alongside each field.

Section type

• For pages made up of a series of blocks, select "Page builder".
• To use a Guided Tour in place of a section, select Guided Tour then select which Guided Tour you'd like to use. You can use the same filtering as elsewhere on Vepple to show specific Guided Tours based on personalisation preferences. The first guided tour that matches the filters will show so you might need to drag and drop them to reorder the tours so that the most specifically filtered tours are at the top of the list. • For the Events Section Type, select Event.

Columns and Blocks explained

Pages created with the Page Builder are made up of columns and blocks. Columns determine the rough layout with blocks delivering content. Read more on the page builder here.
