[content type] field. The selected item here, will determine the icon that shows on the front end for this post and the backend analytics outlining performance of each content type. For a 360 post, select ‘360 Panorama’’ This will alter the options for the rest of the post building process.
[panorama] select the ‘add image’ button. Select the ‘Add image’ button to choose the equirectangular file from your media library, or alternatively you can upload the equirectangular file here too.
When adding 360s to your media library our guidance is to add them as equirectangular, jpg, 2:1, minimum 6000px x 3000px.
[position] Here you can set the starting position for the 360. Use the arrows on the horizontal and vertical field to set or insert a number based on the idea that there are 360 degrees in a circle, i.e. if you wanted to look behind you, you’d insert 180. Please note that the [pan limits] fields below use a different scale of -180 to 180, so take care not to mix the two up.
[pan limits] Prevent users from panning around certain parts of the 360 panorama by using the arrows on the [left], [right], [up] and [down] fields. The [left] and [right] fields work on a scale of -180 to 180, where 0 is the centre (front) of the panorama, negative numbers pan to the left and positive numbers pan to the right. Keep both values within -180 and 180. For example, to contain the view so that it faces forwards only you’d use Left: -90, Right: 90. Unlike the [position] field above, the pan limits do not use a 0 to 360 scale, so avoid values such as 200 or 360 here, as they sit outside the range and will not behave as expected on the live tour.
How to add content spots and information spots to your 360 panorama
-
[content spots] Use this field to add content spots to the 360 panorama. Click ‘add row’ then select Type of “Content” then under “Entry” select a pre-existing post that you would like to add from the dropdown menu ( see articles, videos and gallery on how to create posts); or
select “Information” to add an annotation to the 360 with a heading and up to 300 characters of text. For information spots, it’s a good idea to publish/update the post once you’ve added the heading so that the information spot appears in the 360 preview above, ready to be positioned.
In both cases, a small tag will then show on the panorama above - move this tag on the panorama, to where you would like to position the content spot.
Finally, toggle whether or not you’d like this particular content spot to appear on a Guided Tour. If no, the spot will only show when the post is accessed from the content grid/explore by map, when the post’s filtering conditions are all met.
