How to Update Building Names on the Campus Map

If you notice that a building name is incorrect or outdated on your Explore by Map, it is possible to request a change  but please note that Vepple does not manage map content directly. We use a third-party service, Mapbox, to provide the map experience.

Who can make changes?

Building name changes must be submitted directly to Mapbox by your institution or team, as they manage the geographic data.

Why can’t Vepple change this directly?

Map data is sourced and managed externally via Mapbox. Since university buildings and campus layouts can change frequently, this approach ensures the map remains accurate and maintained at scale.

How to submit a change request

To request an update:

1. Visit the Mapbox feedback page.

2. Use the map to locate the area/building in question.

3. Submit a request with the correct building name and any relevant details.

4. Mapbox typically processes requests within 7 days.

ℹ️ Tip: If you have multiple building name updates, we recommend submitting them together to streamline the process.
