You can disable the Vepple cookie banner and use your own cookie management platform (CMP). This prevents multiple banners, keeps the experience consistent, and lets you pass cookie preferences from your main site to Vepple.
Who manages this?
Vepple enables/controls this configuration. Please contact Vepple Support to get set up.
What’s supported today
External CMPs: Currently supported: OneTrust.
Others: We’re happy to add support based on demand, tell us which CMP you intend use.
What we need from you
When you’re ready to use an external CMP, contact Vepple Support with:
Target timeframe/date to switch off the Vepple banner.
Your CMP name (e.g., OneTrust).
Sharing this early helps us plan any required development work.
How this affects your data & analytics
Vepple reports only on users who have consented to cookies.
If the Vepple banner is off and your external CMP isn’t correctly capturing or passing consent, your analytics (performance dashboard) may show data that isn't accurate or maybe empty.
If you’re changing CMPs, keep one banner active during the transition to avoid data gaps.
Switching CMPs later
If you plan to replace your CMP or need time to reconfigure it:
Ask Support to temporarily re-enable the Vepple banner during the transition.
If you turn off your external CMP without notifying Support, data collection may stop, and your dashboards may show no data until consent is restored.
FAQs
Why do cookies matter for my virtual experience?
Cookies power essential features and analytics. Vepple only reports on users who’ve consented. No valid consent = under-reported or missing data.
Can I use a CMP other than OneTrust?
Today, OneTrust is implemented. Tell us your CMP and timeframe support can be added based on demand.
What happens if I disable both banners by mistake?
If neither the Vepple banner nor your external CMP is active/passing consent, Vepple will not record analytics expect little to no data in your dashboards until this is fixed.
I’m changing CMPs what should I do?
Contact Support to temporarily turn on the Vepple banner during your changeover, then turn it off again once your new CMP is live and passing consent correctly.
