As standard, Vepple comes with both a staging and a live environment. You'll initially build your site in the live environment, then when ready we can create a staging environment that replicates your live environment. Once this is done, access to your live environment will be revoked and you will only be able to make changes on your staging environment - allowing you to preview them before going live.
Why is this necessary?
- System Stability: This step ensures that any updates you make are stable and won't inadvertently disrupt the live environment.
- Quality Assurance: It allows your team to review your changes, ensuring they meet your expectations before going live.
How long will it take to create a staging environment for me when I am ready to go live?
Contact Vepple support and inform them either directly or through your customer success manager.
Please allow up to 3 days to allow the team to set up your staging environment and put in place all the firewalls that are necessary to keep both environments safe. During this period, your site may not be accessible both through the CMS and on the frontend.
Once the process is complete, the support team will inform you.
What happens after a staging environment has been set up?
- You will no longer be able to access your live CMS environment directly.
- All your changes will be made in your staging environment (url will be provided by the Vepple team). You will be able to preview your changes in staging allowing you to get creative or try out new features. It also gives your internal team a chance to review any changes made.
- You will be required to push your changes to live once you are happy. See article on pushing changes to live to guide you.
