CMS > Site options > Home - Background settings tab
Under the [Background type] field, select from the drop down the type background you want; colour, image or video. Selecting one of these will trigger different fields to appear
Background type = Colour
[Background colour] select the background colour from the drop down list. The colours in this drop down are set in site options > theme tab.
Background type = Image
[Landscape aspect ratio image] select the ‘add image’ button to select an image from your media library, or upload to the image to be used for background image at landscape.
[Portrait aspect ratio image] select the ‘add image’ button to select an image from your media library, or upload to the image to be used for background image at portrait. This will be the image that shows when scaled/on mobile. If this field isn’t completed the image set for the landscape will be used, centring on the image.
Background type = Video:
[Poster image] select the ‘add image’ button to select an image from your media library, or upload to the image to be used for the poster image. This poster image will be used/shown if there is a delay in the background video loading. It will also be shown when scaled/on mobile, unless the override is selected (see ‘Use Video on mobile’ section below)
[MP4 Source] select the ‘add file’ button and select the video from your media library, or upload the video to be used. Background videos should be a h264 encoded mp4 optimised for the web. We recommend that you try to keep this file as small as possible, preferably under 3Mb.
[WebM Source] select the ‘add file’ button and select the video from your media library, or upload the video to be used. Note, an MP4 source is required for WebM to work.
[Use Video on mobile] As the video will be mostly obscured on smaller screens, by default the background will be the poster image. If you want to override this, and force the background video to show at mobile, toggle this button to show the ‘Yes’. Video will then be shown on the background at mobile view.
[Has overlay] You can apply an overlay to the background video you have set. To do this, toggle this button to show ‘Yes’. You will then be prompted to set the [overlay colour] - this will be a drop down list of colours, based on the colours set in the site theme. You will also be asked to set the [overlay opacity]
