Benefit
We help our customers get more value from their content by making it available to prospective students across the websites of key partners in the higher education sector.
This gives universities greater exposure with minimal effort.
Our customers can curate a Guided Tour, which can then be easily embedded into a partner’s website through our integration.
Article summary
This article explains how to prepare your content so it’s ready to be embedded on third-party websites.
You stay in control. You choose which third-party sites to share your content with, and when to do it.*
As Vepple builds new partnerships, you’ll be able to either:
- Re-use existing Guided Tours;
- Clone existing Guided Tours and make amends, tailored to the new partnership; or
- Create a new Guided Tour from scratch.
*Note: Once your content is prepared for a third party, Vepple can’t guarantee when it will go live. The third party usually sets the timeframe.
Finished look
Once the VIP Guided Tour has been produced and pulled into the partner website, it will look something like this:

Creating a VIP Guided Tour
Please see this article (How to add / edit a guided tour) for practical steps on how to create a Guided Tour. Depending on which tours you already have setup, you’ll proceed in one of three ways:
- Re-use existing Guided Tours;
- Clone existing Guided Tours and make amends, tailored to the new partnership; or
- Create a new Guided Tour from scratch.
Minimum requirements
- A single Day in the Life Guided Tour
- Generic - please avoid focusing on any particular subject, keep it generic.
- 360s for stops - please don’t use photos, videos etc.
- Five stop Minimum and fifteen stop maximum
- You may include content and social spots
- No CTA end-screens are allowed
Curation Guide
The structure of your Day in the Life tour is up to you, as you know best what your students get up to. Typically, tours include stops such as:
- Accommodation
- Campus atrium or entrance
- Gym
- Coffee shop
- Library
- Study spaces
- Lecture theatre
- Students’ Union
- Local area, town or city
If you already have 360 content, you are ready to get started. If you need new 360s, your Vepple Customer Success Manager can help plan a shoot.
Maps and Student Ambassador Bubbles
To promote increased engagement, where it makes sense, we’d encourage the use of the Guided Tour mini-map (location of each stop plotted), along with the addition of Student Ambassador Bubbles.
Completion
Once you’re happy with the tour, please push your environment live and then submit a support ticket. The Vepple team will acknowledge receipt of your message, but a “go live” date will be communicated outside of the Vepple Support Desk.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if I update my content in the CMS for the guided tour?
If you have opted to use an existing tour any edits made will pull through to all the locations where that tour is showcased (i.e. on the main Vepple site and WHATUNI).
Can I change the guided tour I have submitted?
No, at the moment you can't change the guided tour you have submitted. However, you can update the content within that guided tour. These updates will reflect on the embed in the WHATUNI profile. Please remember that the embed reads from live so remember to push changes to live to see those changes pull through.
