The event query parameter lets you temporarily control whether events are shown across your Vepple experience without needing to update anything in the CMS. This is especially useful for when you don’t normally want events to show on the platform, or testing different experiences.
How to Set It Up
Prerequisites
No setup is needed in the CMS. This is controlled entirely through the URL.
Navigation steps
- Navigate to any page on your Vepple site
- Add ?evt=1 to the end of the URL to force events on
- Example: https://demo.vepple.co.uk/explore/city-tour?evt=1
- Add ?evt=0 to hide all events
- Example: https://demo.vepple.co.uk/explore/day-in-the-life?evt=0
- Press Enter and the page will reload with the new visibility setting applied
Best Practices & Use Cases
- Combine with filters or audience parameters to test specific user journeys
FAQs & Troubleshooting
- Why aren’t events appearing with evt=1?
- Events may still be hidden due to filters, scheduling, or assignment rules. This parameter only overrides the global “eventsEnabled” toggle.
- Can I use this with other query parameters?
- Yes. You can stack it with others like https://demo.vepple.co.uk/explore/city-tour?location=international&evt=1
